We are happy to invite you to another Career Impulse Session titled “Working as a Science Manager at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ)” with Dr. Franziska Schmidt, Graduate School Project Manager at the DKFZ in Heidelberg.

After the talk, Franziska Schmidt will take the time to answer your individual questions and you will have a platform for interactive and informal exchange about career-related topics.

Information about the speaker:

Franziska Schmidt studied biochemistry and worked as a PhD student and Postdoc at the Institute of Molecular Oncology at the University of Göttingen. Since 2015, she is Project Manager for the International PhD Program of the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. Around 550 PhD students are working at the DKFZ which is Germany’s largest biomedical research institute and a member of the Helmholtz Association. Franziska is responsible for the international visibility of the PhD program and for the organisation of the bi-annual interviews. She does various marketing activities and represents the DKFZ at international career fairs. During the Career Impulse Session, she will give an overview about jobs and employers in science management as well as talk about her responsibilities at the DKFZ.
