Dear PhD students and postdocs,

After the success of the last symposia, it is our pleasure to invite you to the upcoming 3rd Women’s Careers and Networks Symposium on Thursday, 20 November 2014 at MPIbpc. Organized by PhD students of GGNB (Göttingen Graduate School for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences) and postdocs of the University as well as the Max Planck Institutes and the European Neuroscience Institute in Göttingen, the symposium aims to attract young scientists with inspiring lectures, plenary discussions and a career fair where young researchers can explore different career options and establish important contacts to promote their career path.

With this symposium, we primarily want to address female scientists, but men are also welcome to join the discussions and learn about different career pathways.

We invite you to register at www.wocanet.uni-goettingen.de

Registration deadline for the symposium and the networking dinner is 17 October 2014. The registration fee is 10 Euro for the symposium and covers lunch and coffee breaks. The registration fee for the symposium and the networking dinner is 20 Euro.

Unlock your potential!

The meeting’s goal is to bring together female PhD students and postdocsto meet successful women of varied professional backgrounds to exchange experiences and to discuss diverse career options. Presentations will be followed by interactive discussions with the participants. For more information on the program and the speakers, please visit: www.wocanet.uni-goettingen.de

In addition, the conference offers participants many opportunities to exchange their ideas and opinions, for instance during a workshop on body language and during a plenary discussion inspired by the book Lean In – Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook.

Excellent networking opportunities

During the symposium, a Career Fair in the MPIbpc’s foyer will provide information on support for women in science and career opportunities in academia and industry.

The interactive concept of the symposium includes an exclusive Networking Dinner as an exceptionalnetworking platform where the speakers meet a limited number of participants. Candidates interested in attending the dinner are asked to register and send a personal career profile and a picture to wocanet@gwdg.de

We are looking forward to welcoming you to this outstanding event!
