The registration for the next WoCaNet symposium<\/strong><\/a><\/span> on 12-13 October 2017<\/strong> is open now! Again, it has a great lineup of female speakers with divers career paths, a career fair, excellent networking opportunities and three workshops prior to the symposium.<\/p>\n

Dear PhD students and postdocs,<\/p>\n

After the success of the last symposia, it is our pleasure to invite you to the upcoming 5th Women\u2019s Careers and Networks Symposium on Thursday and Friday, 12 and 13 October 2017 <\/strong>at the MPI-bpc. Organized by PhD students and postdocs from Georg-August University, the Max Planck Institutes, the DPZ (Leibniz Institute German Primate Center) and the European Neuroscience Institute in G\u00f6ttingen, the symposium aims to attract young scientists with inspiring lectures, plenary discussions and a career fair where young researchers can explore different career options and establish important contacts to promote their career path.<\/p>\n

With this symposium, we primarily want to address female scientists, but men are also welcome to join the discussions and learn about different career pathways.<\/p>\n

We invite you to register at <\/strong>www.wocanet.uni-goettingen.de<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Registration deadline for the symposium and the networking dinner is 8 September 2017<\/strong>. The registration fee is 10 Euro for the symposium and covers lunch and coffee breaks. The combined registration fee for the symposium and the networking dinner is 30 Euro. The fee for one of the three workshops is 10 Euro.<\/p>\n

The meeting\u2019s goal is to bring together female PhD students and postdocs to meet successful women of varied professional backgrounds to exchange experiences and to discuss diverse career options. In addition, the conference offers participants many opportunities to exchange their ideas and opinions, for instance during workshops<\/strong> and during a plenary discussion<\/strong> inspired by the book Lean In – Women, Work, and the Will to Lead<\/em> by Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook.<\/p>\n

Excellent networking opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n

During the symposium, a Career Fair<\/strong> in the MPIbpc\u2019s foyer will provide information on support for women in science and career opportunities in academia and industry.<\/p>\n

The interactive concept of the symposium includes an exclusive Networking Dinner<\/strong> as an exceptional networking platform where the speakers meet a limited number of participants. Candidates interested in attending the dinner are asked to register and send a personal career profile and a picture to wocanet@gwdg.de<\/a><\/p>\n
