Ideally, participants should plan\nto start applying for a grant within the next 6 months. Therefore, it is\ncrucial that you already have an idea about the research topic and possible\nfunding bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Date: <\/strong>Thursday and Friday, 3-4 November 2022, 9:00-15:00 h; <br>plus 3h pre-teaching prior to the workshop<\/li><li><strong>Location: <\/strong>online <\/li><li><strong>Target Group:<\/strong> Postdocs and late-stage PhDs planning to apply for a research grant within the next 6 months<\/li><li><strong>Trainer: <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.uni-goettingen.de\/en\/585922.html\">Dr. Thomas Koch<\/a><\/li><li><strong>Workshop Category: <\/strong>Improving Your Personal and Professional Skills<\/li><li><strong>Registration<\/strong>: Please <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gauss.uni-goettingen.de\/career-registration\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>register here<\/strong><\/a> (in case you are not yet registered) and send an <strong>email to <\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"mailto:career@gauss.uni-goettingen.de\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>career@gauss.uni-goettingen.de<\/strong><\/a> including a <strong>short statement on your      motivation<\/strong> to attend the workshop. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Workshop description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This hands-on workshop provides an overview of the\nGerman research funding landscape and explains how to exploit funding\nopportunities effectively. Selected EU programs within the framework of Horizon\nEurope, such as MSCA Individual Fellowships and ERC Starting Grants, are also\ncovered. Practice scenarios for different research settings help to understand\nhow to select and approach individual funding programs to build resources and\ncapabilities for further career advancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By participating in workshop, you will be better equipped to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>identify funding\nopportunities for different research settings,<\/li><li>understand what makes\na fundable research project,<\/li><li>tailor your case for\nsupport to meet the evaluation criteria,<\/li><li>structure and schedule\nthe writing process,<\/li><li>move from smaller to\nlarger grants.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p> This compact, yet highly interactive workshop employs theoretical input,  plenary discussions, individual and small group work, experience  sharing and expert advice.
