The log-in data will be sent to registered participants.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the speaker: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Martin Helm is an alumnus of the IMPRS Molecular Biology Research\nschool. During his PhD, he worked on understanding synaptic transmission in the\nNeuro- and Sensory Physiology department of Prof. Silvio Rizzoli at the UMG.\nDuring this time, he performed microscopy and mass spectrometry analysis and\ndeveloped software for data integration and image analysis, receiving his\ndegree in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, he joined Miltenyi Biotec as a Data\nScientist, working alongside 5000 colleagues to make cancer history. In this\nrole, he developed software for the analysis of flow cytometry and clinical\ndata, created reporting and dashboard tools as well as novel algorithms. In\n2022, he moved to Vilua Healthcare GmbH to lead the Data Science team. Vilua\u2019s\nvision is to use technology to help everybody live the healthiest life they\ncan. To this end we develop mobile and web applications that give individual\nhealth recommendations. The data science team develops and maintains the\ncentral machine learning models powering these systems and provides analysis\nfor healthcare insurances and industry customers. Martin is looking forward to\nshare how he moved from a biological background into data science, his\nexperiences working in large and very small companies as well as transitioning\nfrom an individual contributor to a team leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<p><!--EndFragment--><strong data-rich-text-format-boundary=\"true\">About the sessions: <\/strong>Our Career Impulse Sessions offer a platform for interactive and informal exchange about career-related topics for PhD students and postdocs in the Life and Natural Sciences.
