We are happy to announce the next workshop on “Fundraising for young scientists: How to open doors and avoid pitfalls in research funding<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

Date: Friday, 6 December 2013, 8:30-16:30<\/strong><\/p>\n

Place: GZMB building, Justus-von-Liebig-Weg 11<\/p>\n

Duration: 1 day<\/strong><\/p>\n

Good projects need money in order to be put into practice. In light of limited public funding, the securing of sources of financial support \u2013 whether classic science funding organizations, foundations or companies \u2013 is an important task, especially in the academic and non-profit sectors.<\/p>\n

Even though there is no guaranteed path to reach the target, successful fundraising is not a coincidence. A prerequisite is an attractive project concept. In addition, professional skills and abilities are necessary in order to locate suitable funding sources and approach them with the right strategy. If a convincingly formulated application is then submitted, the chances of securing funding are good.<\/p>\n

Goals: <\/em><\/p>\n

The workshop communicates proven fundraising knowledge from the strategic initial<\/p>\n

considerations to the funding application and covers the following topics:<\/p>\n

>> Basics of fundraising: Communication pathways and fundraising instruments<\/p>\n

>> Who are the funders? An overview of the funding landscape<\/p>\n

>> Approaching funders: Features of a successful strategy<\/p>\n

>> Change of perspective: My project from the funders\u2019 point of view<\/p>\n

>> Financial planning: What is expected of me?<\/p>\n

>> Applications in practice: Tips & stumbling blocks<\/p>\n

>> Fundraising: My next steps<\/p>\n
