The Deutsche UNESCO-Kommission and L’Oréal Deutschland in cooperation with Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard-Stiftung award stipends to female scientists with kids – also for Postdocs. Since being a mother in Germany often leads to the interruption or premature abandonment of promising scientific careers, the stipends offer support to dedicated female junior scientists with kids.
The program “For Women in Science” helps female scientists through individual counseling and financial support for child care services which gives them the chance to explore their full potential and have more time to focus on their scientific work.
Each year, three stipends are awarded for the duration of one year.
The financial support is limited to a maximum of 20.000€ for:
- monthly financial aid of up to 400€ for household help or additional child care services
- individual career development through coaching, mentoring and career seminars
- earmarked funding for the respective research institution
The deadline for the next application round is 30 November 2016.
