KoWi is organizing a series of events on “Forschen in Europa” in which research and funding organizations introduce themselves to postdocs and PhD students (separately and tailored to the respective target group). The next event is taking place at the University of Bielefeld, on 23 July 2013. More information, also about registration, you find here.
Announcing this event prompts me to give some hinds where to search online for funding opportunities. If you know better or more, feel free to add in the comment section below the post. Here are my suggestions:
The portal acadmics.com offers a short overview about main funding opportunities and related links.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation provides a web service to find the suitable program for your research project. You can search by considering three pieces of information, namely your current position, your academic degree and your center of life.
KISSWIN is a growing information portal with information about career paths, funding, jobs and more in academia.
The DAAD runs a database of funding opportunities for International Researchers. You can search according to subject, country of origin, and status.
Moreover, the Society for Neuroscience provides information about global funding sources associated with regions around the globe.
Finally, information booklet about German funding programmes is available on www.research-in-germany.de.
