Early registration deadline with reduced fees: 15 July 2013

Abstract submission deadline: 20 August 2013

Here is the announcement of the Horizons Organization Team:

Dear fellow students, colleagues and faculty,

we are delighted to announce the opening of registration for the 10th anniversary “Horizons in Molecular Biology” International PhD Student symposium, taking place from September 9-13th, 2013, at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Göttingen.

We invite you to have a look at the program at www.horizons.uni-goettingen.de.

Explore the frontiers of molecular biology in 23 talks by dynamic young scientists as well as established luminaries, among them Nobel laureate Tim Hunt, neuroscientist and memory researcher Erin Schuman, Kartik Chandran, who investigates the evolution of emerging viruses, synapse expert Erik Jorgensen, cell-cell contact specialist and cancer fighter Erkki Ruoslahti and Tony Hunter, the discoverer of tyrosine phosphorylation.

Network with our speakers, for example in a “Lunch with the Prof”, and interact with them and other participants at social events like the conference party and dinner and the special 10th anniversary celebration. Present your own research poster and get selected for a talk, for both of which you can win awesome prizes.

Discover opportunities at the Career Fair preceding the symposium, for example science visualisation or consulting. Attend workshops to develop skills in acquiring research funding and how to optimally place your latest paper – essential competencies for your successful career in science! And now that your career is going to be a success, maybe you want to hear about how a Nobel laureate gets chosen from Urban Lendhal, the chairman of the Nobel Committee – just in case ; )

Participate in hands-on cutting-edge techniques workshops corresponding to research talks – for example on super-resolution STED microscopy, NMR or cryo-EM.

Sign up now – we are looking forward to meeting you!

Early registration deadline with reduced fees is July 15th, however registration is possible until the start of the meeting. Please keep in mind that abstracts have to be submitted by August 20th.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you at “Horizons in Molecular Biology 2013”!
