Information about the speaker:
Dr. Jens Nullmeier studied Mathematics at the FU Berlin and Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse.
During his work as a PhD researcher at the Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization in Göttingen, he worked on spatial effects on evolutionary dynamics far from equilibrium in the workgroup of Oskar Hallatschek.
In 2014, he started working as IT consultant at Xenium AG in Munich.
During his talk he will provide insight into the transition from science to IT consulting and share some of his experiences with his current projects. In particular, he will discuss the following questions:
- Software development in science and industry: What are the differences?
- What are Central IT-Challenges in the (German) industry?
- Technical skills vs. social skills: What is more important in consulting?
