Moreover, participants will train their self-presentation in the job hunting process, including self-presentation on career fairs, conferences, and interviews. Start Up Funding for Postdoctoral Researches for Proposal Preparations

The Research Department of the University of Goettingen is offering a start up funding for postdoctoral researchers of the University who are currently preparing a grant proposal to support the success of the proposal. Here are some information from the Research Department website:

The university (without the Faculty of Medicine who has its own start-up-program) is providing start-up funding to young academics for the preparation and submission of research proposals. With this new initiative, the university is encouraging postdoctoral researchers to remain in academia and pursue careers in research and science. Funding is intended for individual grant proposals (e.g. DFG research grants including “temporary positions for principal investigators”). Persons eligible are young academics with a doctoral degree (up to eight years after completing their doctoral thesis) who would like to submit their own grant proposal and are employed at the University of Goettingen for at least 6 months following the application deadline.
The maximum amount of start-up funding available is 10.000 € and is limited to a period of six months. It covers staff expenses (for student or research assistants) and direct costs. It is not available for financing one’s own position or covering expenses for basic equipment (such as PCs, office material, literature or telephone expenses).

Deadline: 15 May 2015

More information available here.
