You know what kind of job you want and now you have to find the best way to present yourself in an application? You sent out your first applications and didn’t get the responses you want? Then sign-up for our half-day workshop “Optimize Your Application Papers“.

Target group: Junior researchers (PhD students and Postdocs) who are currently applying or plan to apply soon to positions in Industry or other areas outside academic research

Goal: Improve your application papers and discuss various job hunting strategies

The workshop gives insights into the role of CV and cover letter in the application process as well as the do’s and don’ts of writing and formatting them. It explains the recruiters’ perspective of  looking at application papers and which differences exist between applying in Academia versus Industry. After the workshop, the participants will have a better idea of how to present themselves in their applications and know which are important factors for a successful job application.

In the course of the workshop, the application papers of each participant will be reviewed by other participants in a small group setting. Therefore, participants should be willing to share their application papers with the workshop group.

Deadline for Registration: 9 June 2016

Registration: Please register here (if you haven’t done it already) and write an email to Dr. Katrin Wodzicki (ggnb-career@gwdg.de), including a short statement on your motivation to join the workshop (Why this workshop?) and your preference regarding the workshop language (English/German).

After the registration deadline, you will get more information on the preparation of your application papers for the workshop.
